Curve modifier doesnt properly export
I matched the origin of the curve and the object, matched the scales and rotations to all be 0 but the exported smd places the object in a weird place as if the origins of the curve and the object doesnt match. Please Fix

It sounds like your curve object isn't parented to anything. Try making it a child of the object that you are trying to align it with.
