[FIXED] SMD Import fails with Newer version of BleST
I've been using Version 2.21 of BleST to import SMD skeletons i create in another program for some time. It worked well as a skeletal transfer medium. But now, after I updated to version 2.31, SMD skeletal import no longer works. The importer behaves as if it had succeeded, and no errors are thrown, but there is no visible skeleton in the window, only a single 'stick' which lays along the ground plane.

Here's an example of the results of 2.21 compared to the results of 2.31

With 2.21:

With 2.31:

These are from the same exact SMD imported, and the same Blender version (2.71)

I'm importing these with the Bone Append set to "Make New Armature" as i want it standalone for modeling purposes.

Thanks for your attention.

Please upload the SMD somewhere.

I can import it just fine. Does the console (Window > Toggle System Console) say anything?

Edit: actually I found the problem. If there is already 1 armature on any layer in the scene, any secondary import fails (you can't have more than one armature). Before you could import more than one per scene.

You can try this yourself, just try importing the SMD twice. First time will work, but second time will fail.
