TF2 Model Alignment & Transparency Issue
My melee model replacement ends up at the players feet instead of in their hand in-game. I'm fairly new to modding and modeling in general. I exported it as an SMD on the Y axis in blender. I'm pretty sure I rigged the bones to the model and have vertex groups with proper names. When decompiled its all original just the LOD1 and regular SMD are replaced with this model. File path I used for it should be fine. (models - weapons - c_models - c_ham).

Are there any common mistakes that could cause this. Model appears ingame and is textured just the positioning is wrong with a random piece of the model having a see through texture. Like you can see the texture but only the inside of it, as if you were x-raying it. Any advice helps

I fixed the transparancy issue but it just flipped the model vertically still at my feet. Any other ideas?

Easy, the model can't find original link-point, so the gun uses rootpoint from your character... and obviously that's near the feet. You can try to relink it to hand bone. I'm also has not enough experience, but that's it.
As for texturing - strange UV map got inverted on some part? But why..
