When I add the $ikchain command to my .qc, the calf bone and the forearm bone gets twisted. How do I fix this?

The first step I would do is to import the skeleton from the male hl2 model. First, install source SDK, found by going to your library, hovering over "games" or whatever it is set to, which is located where the search bar is. Then click tools. Scroll down until you see "Source SDK" make sure it just says that. Install, then run the program. After running your program, head to the steamapps directory and locate the "sourcesdk_content" folder, (Default Location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\sourcesdk_content" Then go "hl2\modelsrc\humans_sdk" And import male_sdk\male_06_reference.smd.

That's probabily because the bones in the reference model are not rotated the right way. Did you bind the model to the Valvebiped Skeleton, or did you simply rename them?

Oh wow, I saw those files on a model I just decompiled. Also, how to you bind the valvebiped skeleton perfectly? As in general rigging?

Edit: I don't really understand how to do it specifically. Why and how does it work?

I was wondering how other people on the Garry's Mod workshop can port a model from another game and bind it to the ValveBiped Skeleton without making the legs or arms hyperextend, or without messing up the weight painting.

Sorry I meant $glossiness and it is set to 0. Any other ideas? Do you want to take a look at the qc?

I looked at the manuals multiple times, the $glossyness setting is located in the .vmt file, not the qc

I'm having problems with my model's eyes. First of all, they are too glossy. I set the $glossyness setting to 0, no effect. Another issue is that in Gmod, when I use the eye poser, the eyes start getting very weird, as in texture bending. How do I fix?

ah, i want to know if there is like a plugin for this where after i join the two armatures, I can align the valve skeleton to the old skeleton and rename the bones at the same time

When I look at all the ported models in the Gmod workshop, extract the contents from them, and decompile the models, I compared it to the original ported model. How were they able to keep the same exact vertex group, with the same weight paint information?
