I can confirm I had the same problem. I was googling for hours trying to find why it kept saying "ERROR: Too many materials used, max 32" and triangulating it solved the problem. I feel like the addon not triangulating models upon export is indeed the issue
Also yes I am also using 4.1 blender. No errors as far as I could tell.
