Face does not show up in dota after upload
Hello guys! Im almost ready with my 1st item but i have a problem with a face. In blender i can see the face it shows up how i want it, textures are also on it, but when i upload the model in dota 2 this face doesnt show up, its a single triangle, and recalculating didnt helped.

Would be awesome if someone can give me a hint where the problem could be.
Thanks a lot!

I made already a thread at polycount but there the people couldnt help atm. Looks like a hard problem ;/ here is the Link:

Make sure that triangle is in your UV space (make sure it isn't dragged off the side). Also, when you re-compile to test it, make sure to use a different filepath name. The engine doesn't compile over existing mdls. So for example you might want to compile using <example>1.mdl, <example>2.mdl, etc.

The sword looks pretty neat anyhow!

thanks a lot, most competent answer i got so far, gonna try it, I always tryed to overwrite the existing file, maybe that is it, gonna try it later!

Well I renamed the file and saved in a completely new folder. Actually he doesnt asked me to change the filepath, how do I change the filepath? What i've done now: I deleted all the old folders, renamed the file in blender and exported it. And the file is .smd dunno wether this is important but it still does not show up that triangle in dota, but im sure the problem must be here, coz earlier i just saved (exported) over the existing .smd file.
Maybe some1 here has an idea? ^^
Thanks so far!

You don't need to rename your .smd file, only the output filename (check this picture[dl.dropbox.com]).

If you are sure that you recalculated your normals correctly, I'm not sure what could be the problem. It may have something to do with the shaders. I'll look into that pdf file to see what could be the issue.

If nothing else works, take your _color texture and save it as a 24bit .tga file. This ensures that it doesn't have an alpha channel. The alpha channel of the _color texture controls transparency. It might be causing the issue. So either remove the alpha channel from the _color texture or just save it as a 24bit file (instead of 32bit).

Thanks HellJumper, solved it, the Alpha channel in the color .tga coused the porblem, forgot to change it as it is in valve's .tga, thanks a lot!

Glad it worked.
