Model Viewer
So i went to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Team Fortress 2\bin, like you said, and i tried to run both the hlmv batch file and the application. The batch file crashes but the application opens, however, when i try to load my model into the model viewer it says "failed to load model" and then crashes. Is there another software i should use instead?

This can happen if you compiled the model with a different game's compiler (studiomdl.exe), instead of TF2's compiler. I know this happens between L4D2 and TF2.

This might also happen (not sure) if not all the files related to the mdl file are with the mdl file, such as vvd, vtx, and phy files.

:)

I used the in-game compiler to import files from blender...

Are you using (Steam) > Load model?

No, i am using the first option, which is just "load model"

If i am supposed to use (Steam) > Load model, how am i supposed to navigate? There is nothing in the workshop folder and i don't know how to get to my desktop, the directory says, "[ROOT]\models"

When you compile using the in-game importer, it should put an extra copy of your .mdl file in your /models/workshop/ folder. So it should be there...

Ok, sorry for the confusion, by "there is nothing in the workshop folder" i meant that i couldnt see antthing since it was a zipped file. I used the (steam) load model and found my way to my misc and imported it just fine. Thanks for your help.

go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\SourceSDK\bin\ep1\bin and click on the hlmv application (half-life model viewer) then click file, (Steam) > Load model, and fine your mdl :)

Yeah I got it now thanks. But now I can't load my model into source film maker :P
