Question about different material textures on an object
Hi again, I'm now currently working on making a belt item for the engineer in Blender, as I've postponed my previous engineer jeans project untill a later date. I'm done with modelling it and edge splitting, so now I need to move on to unwrapping.

Here's a picture of the belt currently:

So when I eventually texture this thing, my idea is that I want to have the leather belt part be like a smooth kind of material, and I want the belt buckle to be a metallic, shiny material. But I'm not sure when or how I would even do this. Would I have to unwrap the belt and the belt buckle separately, and create two different textures in order to make two different looking materials? And even if I did do that, I'm not too sure what I'd have to write in the VMT files to change the material type.

Anyhow, if anyone could assist me with this issue It would be greatly appreciated :D

Thanks
