New Import Tool Backpack Icon Issue
So I use Gimp to make my backpack icon but when I export it as a .tga the import tool cant load it. So I exported it as a .png and converted it into a .tga with another program. It worked on one picture but it didnt work on my current one. It says the image does not fit in the 512x328 range, but it is. I tried makeing the top and bottom 512x92 perfectly black and making them transparent but it does not work. Anyone have a solution or similar problem?

I can't really say what's going on since I don't use GIMP. Maybe check out this thread: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=34562686#post34562686

I just downloaded Gimp and got it to work using the thread I linked you. Here are the steps I did:

Open gimp > new image 512x512 > using the brush tool, I made a simple red circle in the middle (make sure you flatten your image if you have multiple layers) > I selected the red circle using the magic brush tool > In the layers window I right-clicked the layer and chose "Add Layer Mask..." and chose "Black" > your image should disappear > with the selection still in place, use the fill bucket to fill the portion of your icon with white > your icon should appear again > deselect everything by pressing ctrl+shift+a > in the layers window, right-click the layer and click "Apply Layer Mask" > finally export the .tga file.

Ok, first of all, thank you for doing all of this. Second of all, did you try use the import tool and selecting it? Because usually when I export it from Blender as a tga I get an error trying to load it from the import tool.

Give me one second to try. Exporting from blender may not give you the alpha channel.

I dont think it does. It still said that it didnt fit in the 512x328 area for me

It's working for me. Make sure to deselect the "RLE compression" option when exporting as a .tga from gimp.

Oh, ok. That might be the problem because I always had it selected

Yeah that was the problem. Thanks again for helping me. I couldnt find a solution anywhere.
