I wouldn't make it transparent since thouse types of goggles are rarely transparent when viewed from outside. You could boost the phong to make it really shiny (make sure to give it a phong mask so just the goggles become shiny and not the entire hat).

You might want to make a $PhongExponentTexture which will allow you to make a mask for the rimlighting. The alpha channel is what you want:

Just keep experimenting.

My advice in the future would be to save several versions of your blender file as you reach milestones. example1.blend would be like my base mesh, example2.blend would be when I have unwrapped and started texturing, etc. Then if something happens to your main file, you'll have a backup.

:[ There isn't any way to convert tris back to quads with 100% accuracy. But you can try pressing "alt+J" which converts tris to quads as best as it can. Make sure to select all your vertices in edit mode first before pressing alt+J.

You can assign however many vertices you want per bone.

The basic process is this:
Parent your model to the entire bone rig > go to the Object Data tab > navigate to the Vertex Groups subheading to find a list of bones within that rig > in edit mode, select the vertices you want to be applied to a certain bone > select the bone from that list and hit "Assign" (the weight = 1.000 means those vertices will only be applied to that bone). You can have different weights (i.e. 50/50 means 50% of the movement will come from 1 bone and 50% from another bone).

Weight paint mode more easily allows you to modify what vertices are applied to which bones. I would do a quick google search on how to use weight paint mode. It's definitely worth learning.

Second post: I'm not sure actually. Are we talking about the weapon you just made? I assume that to make it all class you just make it useable by all classes (like the fying pan) and then just mark the corresponding characters on the workshop. Best of luck to you, though... Valve seems to be quite opposed to adding new weapons. All they ever add is hats/miscs now. I really can't wait for them to add official weapon support to the new beta importer.

Yeah that just sounds like a bone positioning error. If you accidentally moved the bone, you can always just delete the old rig and re-import a fresh bone rig to work from.
