OK. Please take all of this constructively:

Uploading your work to the workshop is the last step of the process and is just as important as everything else in modeling. Don't cut corners here; make sure you get really nice renders or in-game screenshots (and if you can, do paintovers for promotional purposes). A few quick screencaps within blender is not sufficient to get people to vote for your item.

It is a good concept, but the hat could use a lot of work. Currently it appears to be really flat (i.e. one solid color). Do hats ever look like that in real life? No. Break up the flat with some texture detail or small geometry details.

Don't be too hard on yourself, though, especially if this is your first model. Just keep at it.

Sounds like you're learning the "joy" of rigging, haha. In situations like this, I typically will decompile an existing item that functions similarly to what I want it to do. Then I take a look at how the bones were applied.

I would suggest doing that first-- take a look at how other people set it up (decompiling a model is pretty simple: Wyk describes how to do that here[wyksblog.com]). Then try to mimic the bone rig. Are you using weight-paint mode, btw? Weight-paint mode is extremely important for rigging. I would suggest browsing through some tutorials on how to use it.

I don't know about the goggles, but for sure the beanie is in-game already (troublemaker's tosslecap).

It looks good so far. Make sure to use smoothing groups (edgesplits) around the edges of the frame so that you don't get that jagged appearance.

15:30? Anyway, I pretty much said what I did, but I'll say it again :P

Select both edge loops > then press "s" to scale > before doing anything else, press middle mouse button to lock the scaling to a specific axis > now move the mouse to widen the gap > click to finalize.

Middle mouse button applies to any transformation actually--not just scaling. You can rotate and move objects as well using the middle mouse button to anchor the transformation to a specific axis. If you want to scale things in 2 axes (instead of all 3 or just 1) you can press "s" > shift+"x" > drag mouse outward. This will scale your object in the y anx z dimensions only. This also works for shift+y and shift+z.

Careful with that... if you import 2 things you might get bones interfering with each other (i.e. both the spy and weapon have the weapon_bone armature...)

Also if you want to pose your character, you'll need to import animation .smd files. You can do that by decompiling a character model and then importing an animation smd file after importing the spy model.

For perspective views, press numpad 1, 3, or 7.

The swirls just look out of place. All your other geometry is very angular (like hard edges), and the swirl pattern has round edges. Maybe use square edges.

The spikes are awesome! But maybe you should make the swirly blue patterns more angular (right now they look a little silly).
