@The Greater Sphinx after looking at the progression of where tags are placed for awhile now i agree with you. It seems like the most applied tags are placed at top. As we've been flagging games ive been seeing the point and click tag go lower and lower and there are at least 20 games right now where its on the bottom

@Ozzette78 thats to be expected. The list is my attempt at finding the worst offenders but there might be a few that are more controversial. If anyone has any that they would like to discuss please put a comment on this thread. If some disagree then its power by consensus.

So i made this comment on another post but thought id list it here as well:

One thing I've noticed with some of the earliest games posted is that when you click on the game's applied tags on its store page the Point and Click tag is now coming up lower or at the bottom of the list.
I think it might be the case that the labels are either hierarchical and the point and click tag has been flagged so many times its at the bottom, the tag is being reapplied by someone, or there is some kind of lock that prevents it from being removed.
Newer games, less popular games, and games with fewer tags seem to be more able to be flagged and have the tag removed.
I think when a game is posted new the developer must have the option of selecting a few tags of their own. I am hoping that those they select arent some how "locked" into the store page.
Few other thoughts and observations:

Magerama made a good suggestion of having fewer games posted so it seems less daunting for members to go thru and flag mislabeled games. Ill try to only keep 30-50 games up at a time.

As to why these games have been mislabeled in the first place i think ive gained some insight. It seems to be broken down into a few catagories.

-Developers/players who aren't familiar with the term and apply it because it involved clicking the mouse (in which case everygame on steam would have the tag)

-Certain games from eastern asia that apply every tag they can find to their game. I think this is either a translation issue or they're just trying to get everyone to look at their game they can.

-The "no rhyme or reason" where i have absolutely no idea why they would apply the P&C tag.

So it basically boils down to ignorance of the exsistance of the genre or greedy ppl that dont care that by mislabeling their games, ACTUAL p&c games are being lost in the garbage. If the tag was Point and Click Adventure, it might help clarify. But the genre is well known as Point and Click and such a tag would be too long.

I actually reached out to steam awhile back. Recieved a generic response. It really doesnt make sense from a financial perspective. I mean, we all want to spend $$$ on p&c games and not being able to find them makes it difficult for us to spend that $$$.
