[Solved] VTA file makes Crowbar(studiomdl.exe) crash.
The size of the file is 25mb, i have compiled way bigger files with this amazing tool.
The flex in there is only 1 flex for test.

For information, the model successfully compiles if i remove the .vta file from the QC.
It loads up fine in modelview etc.

I cross checked the bone list with a previous compile of same model with flex and the list seem identical.

Whats going on?
What is making the stuidomdl crash like that?
Crowbar do not exit tho. it only says "... Compiling ".\exurok_door.qc" finished. Check above for any errors."

Copy-paste the complete compile log.

Sure, but its not much more info:

Compiling with Crowbar 0.36.0.0: "G:\Blenderexport\Gunship\exurok_door.qc" ...

Compiling ".\exurok_door.qc" ...
qdir: "G:\Blenderexport\Gunship\"
gamedir: "Y:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\usermod\"
g_path: "exurok_door.qc"
Building binary model files...
Working on "exurok_door.qc"
SMD MODEL exurok_door.smd
VTA MODEL exurok_door.vta
... Compiling ".\exurok_door.qc" finished. Check above for any errors.

The door is supposed to be broken open by waterforce. So the door has several bones and flexes to really capture a good scene in SFM.

It definitely looks like it failed reading the VTA file, as you said. Perhaps the syntax of the VTA file is wrong somehow. Maybe it's missing the "end" keyword at the end or something like that.

Yeah, but i already checked the vta up against other objects i have rendered/compiled and using in sfm. I must have overlooked something, if you got any more tips on what it could be in the VTa please let me know, i worked so long on this door to just throw it away and make a new.

Also, im humbled the top admin of this group took the time to help a novice like myself out. Thanks ZeqMacaw :) Much appriciated.

Maybe you've hit the limit of vertexes modified. I think it might be 10,000, but I'd have to check later on that exact count. You could try taking out stuff from the VTA file within Notepad++. See if the model compiles at some smaller VTA size.

Hmm smart, i'll try that! For info; the model only has 1 flex.

Just want to close this case as solved, the problem was too many vertex flexes modified.
