Converting File Formats.
I know there's probably a really comprehensive guide on this somewhere, but I don't know where to look for it (I'm also kinda lazy).

How do I convert files from Valve's format to something like an OBJ or FBX?

Open it in Blender with the SMD plugin and the export it as an OBJ or FBX.
