make space? steam isnt even that big. if your drive is filled that much, you really need to make space. drives should have 10-15% free space at all times. free space that isnt filled. its better for their longevity.

though i am not sure what this has to do with the discussion. you dont *need* to have stuff on another drive.

ok so if i remember right, the "(10)" part of the error means that there is an error on line 10. if you use notepad++, this is easy to see.

at a quick glance at the qc, it looks like the first "{" after "$model "marine" "base_male_combat.smd"" has no closing "}". id compare it to a qc that does compile, and see where that typically closes off.

A friend of mine took my files and did the same thing and got his to work, but comparing QC files they are 100% the same, even used his but still comes out broken. I don't understand why but nothing is different, the file paths should be the same as the original model before editing because I simply used its QC file with only a few changes to the model name so it doesn't override the original model.

If he got it to work, but you can't, then it's obviously something on your end. Quadruple check to make sure everything is in it's right place. Letter to letter, compare the directories.

Then you need to update the location that is listed in Crowbar. Go to the first tab, pick a game, and go from there.

since i never bothered to elaborate on this:

open crowbar
first tab, set up games
pick a game
you see all of that stuff? the directory line for the executable, game info txt, etc. make sure thats all hooked up right.
that should do it.

Maybe the shader (the first line in a VMT) is invalid for L4D2 (and its HLMV).
Maybe the shader is invalid for a survivor model.

I...have never experienced this bug before. However, when I was observing the same model in HLMV, I got this:

First image is when I first launch, second is if I press m1 in the viewer, and last is if I refresh HLMV. I've tinkered with the VMTs of the textures, but no dice. Any insight on this would be much appreciated, thanks. :))

Just a couple shots in the dark here:

- Could the issue be related to the bone's rotation?

- In a separate folder, try compiling a version of the model without the collision commands. If that compiles right, then it's definitely a problem with the collision.

- Try placing the $sequence before the $collisionjoints-- I've no idea if this has any impact, but just looking through the ragdolls and pms I've compiled, they've been in that order.

- Try adding a value to the $damping command-- again, just looking through my qcs, and comparing any differences-- they've all at least had a value of 0.01.

I mean, yeah that's weight paint mode. The calf might be weighted to another bone, or perhaps has irrelevant mesh weighted to it.
