how can i play multiplayer got gameranger and dk2 but didnt work for me...what can i do ???

Hi everyone, I used to play this game many years ago, and I can still remember it as one of my favs, unfortunately I just played it once in multiplayer with a cousin and that was all. XP. Nowadays a pal and I have tried to play it through Gameranger but we weren´t able to, then I discovered this shrine of hope hehe. Can somebody please give some advice about how to configure it? and of course, I´ll be available for playing when work allows me too hehe
