I think he does. He's changed his PFP through the years from a GMOD screenshot to the default question mark one. So yeah, I have a suspicion he's not online (and who knows, may not even know) or maybe just got spammed too much so he's doing it on purpose. Maybe this is all part of his plan. We'll see. Additionally, everything on his account is private and didn't use to be from what I remember - also another tactic to avoid showing people that you were active - he probably doesn't want us to see his hours in games.
