sucks to be bri'ish
We can check the validity of our solution by simply using addition, 9+10=19. Did we just find our answer?! Yes and no. The variable X is indeed 19 but the answer we're looking for is not so simply deduced. We're given two options and BOTH are correct but 19 is not the final solution as this equation is a trick in and of itself!
It's of utmost importance to find the difference between our answer choices of 19 or 21 and as we can see for ourselves here, 21-19 = 2. So with this hidden piece we can now find the true answer. We know that our variable is 19 so our equation now looks like this, 9+10=19. But with the difference of 2 we must now proceed further in the equation, 19+2=T where T is the true answer. Following the mathematical principle of addition, we can come to a groundbreaking conclusion that the final answer is in fact 21.
