i joined steam in 2020 but i do remember a feature that i thought was particularly good: GETTING FUCKING NOTIFICATIONS

You can either use Steam on mobile browser or install the older apk of Steam app.

I updated the app. The new QR login rocks and I like how it keeps me invisible when accepting trade instead of constantly making me appear online. But there's no push up notification anymore (if there is, Idk where to turn it on). I have to unlock my phone and open the app to get the OTP. Before I could just glance at my phone's push up notification for it. Not to mention the whole app is laggy af and often freezes.

Hmm, I don't seem to have this problem. The Steam chat works just fine for me in-game via Steam overlay.

Hmm, I don't seem to have this problem. The Steam chat works just fine for me in-game via Steam overlay.

It does work fine for me too, though whenever I have other stuff that's also using up computer resources (such as a web browser, which I usually keep open for doing stuff on Discord as I for some reason don't want to download the app for it) it tends to lag a LOT compared to other things, and even slows my PC down as it's opening whenever someone sends me a message.
It's not a big issue though, just annoying compared to the older and less resource-intensive chat. And my computer probably sucks ass.

i updated but am yet to use the app much, i definitely had issues with the old app so unless they royally fucked something up, im glad they're improving it.

What's your processor and how much RAM do you have? I saw you bought Elden Ring from activity feed, so your PC certainly doesn't suck. Maybe there's some other resource-hogging background apps you're not aware of.

Checked, and I think that my processor is an AMD A8-5500 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 3.20 GHz (going off of Device Specifications, not entirely sure about what this all means as I'm lazy and retarded), and my installed RAM is 8.00 GB (3.94 GB usable).

When it comes to background apps too, Avast Antivirus (shitty antivirus that my dad wants me to use) seems to use a LOT of resources in the background, so that might be what's causing these issues, but I dunno.
