All I did is make it public that I don't want to encounter certain steam accounts in my travels.

The rest is all made up by the modders themselves, and the army of trolls that Colossal seems to feed.

I am forced to release my mods via GitHub because Colossal themselves is blocking me from publishing them on Steam. Thanks to incessant trolling over the past year, my mods have been under malware review multiple times. Every time, clean bill. You do the math.
