Da Capo 3 is Part of a Series which you can probably tell by the name, however I dont really feel like you need to play the first two games to enjoy this one. I myself have played the first and a little bit of the second and didnt even really notice many similarities in them.

The Game itself is seperated into two Parts. The first one is a Slice of Life like Story with you going to a Mages Academy which has some nice things happening and a lot of different character interactions. The second Part changes depending on the choices you make in the first one, as you focus on one of the main heroines in it. You deepen your Relationship with her and learn a lot more about her. The mix between the two parts is very good and I feel like the Setting of this VN would make for an amazing Anime.

Even though the Game is pretty lengthy I felt like it would have been better if you would have gotten to see more of the MC and his Magical development and when it comes to the MC I have to say that he is very good. Not a weakling and not indecisive like many others.

The Art is also pretty good and the only thing thats not that great about it is the rather low Resolution, however that is just something a lot of older Visual Novels have going against them. It is also not that bad. The first and second Da Capo had lower Resolutions.

The Translation and Writing was also great and if you get the X Rated Version you also get some decent H-Scenes. Wouldnt say they are really necessary for this one though as there arent really that many and they dont really add anything.

Overall, really had a great time playing this VN and I can only recommend getting it at least on a Sale as it is quite expensive. However it would also be worth it at the full price if you like school/academy settings and magic.

Also Eto is the cutest
