Problem with curling example - Engine Error (Check for write enabled)
When I try to load the curling map with "curling_stadium scripted_curling" as the mutation, the game crashes with "Engine Error: Error opening maps/curling_stadium.bsp! (Check for write enabled). I only mention it because I would think it's trying to open it for write and I would think that's not supposed to happen

I meant to pull the curling example from the beta, so there are likely missing assets. I suspect the map isn't there.

The map is there and neat ;) I figured it was busted, I just didn't know if it trying to do something write on the bsp was a sign of some underlying bug

Curling map is definitely there and looks like fun. The same crash and prompt occurs when I open a newly compiled map and disconnect to menu.

oh. Just noticed that if you open the game as left4dead2.exe, the map will write to bsp. I'm just going to stop that and avoid potential side effects.
