When playing the campaign from the "choose an addon campaign" window it still shows my orginal addoninfo.txt content. Don't know if thats intended or not. Thinking it would show workshop description and info..

OK yes it does and now shows in the add-ons screen.

Ok I tried this again. This time to start "fresh" ; searched my l4d2 folders for all vpk's and deleted any found and also any in the UGC area's; i deleted my item from the workshop and uploaded a new copy.

Let it publish and then subscribe to it. Opened l4d2. It downloaded it and works.

I then wanted to "patch" my item so i uploaded a new copy (different file size and little less content in it).

Uploaded the new version. Fine

Started l4d2 the add-ons progress gfx was rotating so it was seeing new content.

Then nothing. This is in the console again:


An error occurred while attempting to download a file from the UGC server!

And now my add-ons window is blank with no content. Saying no add-ons presently installed. But i can host a game via coop and see my level from this window. It shows my orginial addoninfo.txt content(not what the workshop replaces).

The left4dead2_beta\addons\workshop folder still shows the orginal upload and not the updated copy..

Still can't upload larger VPK's

in the update that was going to be released yesterday will it also address the issue with uploading files? I still can't upload my full campaign with it split up. Each vpk is less than 200Mb (181MB and 177MB).

It still gives me an error
"Fail to write file(path to my vpk) to Steam Cloud! Please verify the filename and try again."

I uploaded this as a means to test my finale because we can't upload files that seem to be over 140Mb~.(though i had both parts of my campaign under 200Mb)
After uploading it i needed to make a change so i recompiled the finale and uploaded it again and to see how the auto update process works. It gave me this message.

It seemed like it downloaded it yet it did not update. Doing a little digging I think i found that it was downloaded to my Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\10806506\ugc\referenced\541820807412120230\myl4d2addons

But never seemed to get moved into the addons/workshop directory..

Uploaded a new version of my finale addon and it appears to not update... Even unsubscribed and subscribed again. Still loads the old version.. It appears to not remove the addon either from addons/workshop/...

Restarted steam/game no go.

I think I asked this question once to Chet but thought i'd bring it up again. What are the possibility's that dedicated server's will be able to sync/download content from the workshop? Of course the admin of the server should have control over what they see fit to subscribe too.

But just wondering if any steps are taken to consider something like this in the future.
