But there is still a problem; when I click subscribe the download isn't successful, only 2.8 mb downloaded but file size is larger than that (90+ mb).

Keep getting the error "Failed to update file! Please try again later."

Additional information: When I start the game I can see the item loading but it never appears in the addons list, and only the picture (.jpg) appears in /left4dead2/addons/workshop folder while the .vpk is not there.

The download was not successful at all. I took a screenshot which can be seen here:

It said I was downloading the item at 4,268,911,872.0 GB/S (CURRENT RATE), the value didn't go up or down it was just stuck at that number.

I had 1,024 KB / 183,3 MB downloaded and 0 / 1 item completed. Time remaining no number shown.

In the next screenshot which I took about a minute after, which can be seen here:

It said 1 item complete, however the item didn't really download as only 1,024 KB had been downloaded and the item's file size is larger than that.

I tried restarting the game etc. which didn't solve the problem. This is the same problem which people have reported here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/121068229/864973123442976825/

17. In multiplayer options it would be great if there was an option to enable/disable sprays, and maybe people want to have sprays enabled but they want the files in materials/temp folder to automatically delete when you exit the game because some sprays are very inappropriate. I had over 500 vtf files in materials/temp folder which I had to manually delete.

Will something be done about consistency errors? A lot of people can't play custom maps for L4D2 due to consistency errors.
