Public Google Drive for WIP, free-to-use assets, etc.
I actually had an idea for a group like this that started off as...more or less, nothing but a shared folder on Google Drive. I uploaded a few of my own things to it that I thought might be useful for other people to look at, but that's it. I was really pleased to see a Steam group like this created (which honestly makes much more sense)

Let me know if there are any issues with the link.

As you can see, the place is barren, and I may change the name to reflect this group. I at least have some folders to give you an idea of how it might be structured - useful models/maps for movies can go in one folder, people's unfinished DMXs in one, etc. As it is, being so unstructured, there's a risk of one person's stuff being "stolen" by another, so at the least it might be good to create Google Documents to denote ownership. I'm eager to see if anyone finds this useful, or even takes a look at the things I've put in so far.

Awesome idea. I've posted it in /r/sfm, hope you don't mind.

Awsome idea! But the link doesn't work on my iPhone... I'm being redirected to the google drive home page...

There should be mods, or at least restrict privileges so people can't delete everything.

I'll start putting guards around the gold vault as soon as we have gold to put in. Right now, I don't even know if many people would notice or care; and with Google Drive's limited functionality, I don't think things like moderators can be appointed.
P.S. Link isn't working for anyone on mobile devices, not that you could do much there.

Wow, that was fast...already, we've had issues with people coming in and deleting things, even before very much has gone in there. I guess I was wrong to have a trust system.

well... that was a great idea especially now that the community is growing exponentially... someone should really make a website or a blog where to post all the new stuff that anyone want to share with the others... there are even some post on this forum sharing models, sound and even animations... we really need something like that... unfortunately i'm not good in web scripting and stuff like this but what we need is something really simple not huge fancy stuff... just a file browser where everyone registered can put anything he want related to SFM and anyone can download it and ONLY moderators can delete things... :/ unless nobody can do something like this i'll give it a try...
