why are other 3d programs better for animating?
could seem a bit off-topic question, it kinda is, but i was wondering why other 3d programs such as 3ds max, maya, blender are better at animating, i mean, what tools do they have that makes them superior compared to the graph editor of SFM?
i read that the graph editor doesn't have a dopesheet, and i wonder what's that too, so,
if you could please enlighten me, i would really be grateful.

It's a mix of the tools available in Maya and 3ds, and preference; mainly preference. An example of the tools in Maya are things like trax, and plug-ins such as tween machine.
