Mysterious portals have appeared in different game universes. The heroes are forced to work together to find out the cause of the portals and the "source" of all evil they encounter during their journey. Coming in 2013.

Information:

(There will probably be many grammar mistakes because English isn't my mother language, but i will try my best.)

I have already posted this in the main Source Filmmaker group forums, but because I didn't get any response, I copied it to here and added more information.

First, thank you very much for watching the trailers of the animation I am making. Feel free to comment and criticize the video and tell if there are mistakes in this text. This is my first animation I have ever made and also my first videos, so the quality might only be average.

First trailer I made with Pinnacle Studio 12 which caused very dark scenes. The second one I made with Sony Vegas Pro 12 trial in bad quality wmv format, because otherwise there would have been Sony's watermark appearing randomly in the video. Adobe Premiere caused also dark scenes. Maybe you could suggest something?

Creating the film was inspired by the funny and interesting gmod-videos in Youtube. Garry's mod has really interesting concept of having easy access to different games, so there can be very exciting interactions between different video game characters and environments etc. Like having Half-life 2, Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2 characters together in Day of Defeat map, fighting against Combine, zombies and aliens from HL:source. I have used that concept in this animation, like you probably saw in the trailer. The story and the music are ready, but because I have no experience of animating and filming, I have some problems in there. Of course there are also problems in the SFM, because I use maps, models, and other props that are not supported (yet, hopefully soon) as the software is still in beta.

I'm afraid the animations and other problems may become really trouble for me. First when I finished the story last summer I thought I just release it in the forums and hopefully somebody would make it, but as the release of Source Filmmaker, I thought I could just make it myself because I knew best how the film should look like. But then I saw that my custom animations and camera views looked awkward compared to the other films made in SFM, so I thought I just make the "skeleton" of the film and more experienced animators would polish it. I hope I don't sound too egoistical. Currently, I have managed to complete one full chapter and some parts of the other ones, but because the current limitations of the software (maps and ingame support, like Tf2 it has now), I can't do some parts. I will tell more about the problems later, if you are interested to help.

Also, I may have a little different "taste" of games and videos, like, for example, Left 4 Dead 1 being my favourite multiplayer-game, although I like Team Fortress 2 too. I just don't usually like killing other players, instead, I like to work together, which is the main thing in L4D. (Why did I write this?) Also, there won't be much swearing, sex and other "cool" things in the film. Instead I just want a balanced mix of humour, drama, horror and adventure.

The film will be:

- About 2 hours long
- Mainly made with Source Filmmaker (Currently it's slow for me to make battle scenes, because adding fire particles takes time, so it could be easier with Gmod)
- Contains a prologue, epilogue and 6-8 chapters (I would also like to make little "posters" for each one, like the ones in the trailers, but hopefully with better quality)
- Features music from video games (Some rare and usually "underrated" ones). There may become some copyright issues with the music etc. I'm not sure.

If you are interested about the film, should I make a some sort of blog or a group? You can contact me in Steam or in Youtube.

Again, I'm very sorry if my text was very rude and full of grammar mistakes. This is my second English forum post I have ever written.

I will write more information later! (I will release a real footage from the film this or next week!)

Petripu (The name may be quite weird, it's just a mixup of my real name.)

The trailers seems interesting; despite some of he wonky animations and camera work. Although I felt it was missing dialogue. Mixing both SFM & Garry's Mod is pretty risky though; and 2 hours long? The project seems intriguing though and i'd like to see more of it. :)
