Modeling a flame? (no particles)
Hi guys, just joined OSFM. This seems like a nice place to look for advice. o/

I was wondering, how should I go about modeling fire as a mesh rather than a bunch of particles? I've been experimenting a little bit, but perhaps anyone has any good tips on how to approach this in a stylistic manner?

I'm doing this because a modeling project I plan on doing requires some very specific shapes for flames. I also never did particles or animation before. Just models.

I use 3DS Max for my modeling work, if it's of any importance. :) (Honestly I'd just like to stay as far away from Blender as possible. I've tried it but it's just not my thing.)
