Let's have another Theme week. Starting sunday September 16th and running through sunday September 22nd, will be Critter week. in honor of the release of Black Mesa[www.blackmesasource.com] this friday, Make Videos of headcrabs, bullsquids, antlions, alien swarm monsters, or whatever creepy crawly you want. Put "OSFM critter week" in the Video description and post it here. There are a couple people working on rigs to make animating monsters like headcrabs easier, so keep an eye out and I'll post them here.

Hey everybody, Zachariah Scott here, Critter Week is over! we had another great turnout this week, with headcrabs especially turning up in all sorts of hilarious and disturbing places. We recieved 60 entries, totalling just under 32 minutes. thats over 10 minutes more content than the last event. We also as a community, generated some bad-ass rigs that we can all continue to use going forward, linked in the thread below.

With october and the Saxxies coming up, I expect alot of you will be very busy, so We're only going to do one theme week next month, It will be Infected week, where videos using Left 4 Dead zombies and survivors reign supreme. That event will run from October 14 through october 21. If anyone want's to get started early I have no problems with that, just make sure to release during the release window.

It's really pretty great to have everything collected in a nice place that auto-plays through them all. I reccommend when sharing videos from Critter week, that you link to them in the playlist form. I don't believe anybody managed to hit the secret sprint challenge this week. Borderlands 2 saw to that.

Also if you havent' checked out the OSFM group chat, it's Pretty active most days. so if you ever have questions that need answering about SFM, just pop in and we probably have someone who can help you hanging around.

Hey everybody, Zach Scott here. let me start by saying Holy Crapaballs, turret week turned out awesome! Thanks for throwing in dudes. It was a LOT of fun, and an incredible source of motivation for me as I'm sure it also was to others as well. Some quick numbers 22 people contributed to turret week, totalling 41 videos that add up to 21 minutes of content, that's basically an episode of a tv show.

The turn out is especially awesome given that nobody really had any heads up ath this was coming. It sort of materialized out of nowhere and took off. We had a great spirit of community throughout, bringing in some Big names from machinima for contributions, but also there were always people hanging around in the OSFM group chat ready to help others figure out how to get the portal stuff working or operate rigs etc.

People have been asking me what/when the next theme week will be, I'm still figuring that out, trying to decide on a good pace for these, but if you have any suggestions for themes or ideas on how to make theme weeks better, visit this thread. This is definately something I want to do again and maybe turn into a recurring thing, so keep an eye on the announcements for this channel for info on when the next event is and what the theme will be.
