I dunno. I hope most people are smart enough to read the credits. Hopefully the original creators are still out there and will re-post their stuff. With sfmbox gone it's too hard to get most of these resources so I'm glad people are getting them back out there. I doubt anyone is posting them with malice in their heart. They are trying to fill the void left in the community.

Fire is handled via something called "particles" this tutorial will get you started on particles. Just look for and use the fire particles instead of the medigun particles or whatever the tutorial uses:

It's not possible yet. Unlike the original Kinect, this one has a proprietary connector so it can't plug into your PC (until some hardware hacker creates an adapter and driver stack). The new kinect 2 for PC is due out later this year. Here is a comment from ipisoft (makers of mocap software):

Sure, we will support Kinect 2. The main stopper here is that Kinect 2 for Xbox has no connection cable for PC (only custom connection for Xbox).
Microsoft is going to release Kinect 2 for Windows next year (date is not fixed yet). We are in their Kinect developer's program, and hope to get Kinect 2 for Windows before its official release. Before that we can tell nothing about expected tracking quality.

SFM always starts you in the wrong directory for particles... for some reason. Click "up" in the filesystem once or twice, then go to tf2\particles.

I assume the models are invisible in the model browser, but render properly when added to a scene? If that's the case, it's because the Portal models were built for a newer version of the game engine that supports "phong" materials: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Phong_materials

Navigate to your materials directory and find the .vmt files for the models (for me it was under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\SourceFilmmaker\game\portal2)

Comment out the lines that start with $phong

$phong 1

... becomes ...

//$phong 1

or change $phong from 1 to 0.

I used the "Find and Replace in files" feature of Notepad++ to replace all occurrences of `$phong 1` with `$phong 0` which automatically fixed 355 (out of 370-some) models. I went back and fixed the 20-odd other models manually that didn't include a generic "enable phong" line like the one above.
