Yeah, I actually agree with this, to make it seem like all the random events are consistant, so try to keep in touch with each other with your respective video clips.

I like it, I think it'd be a bit funnnier without the fade times, sort of a way to "interupt" whatever other madness comes in the collab.

So I want to assemble an SFM collaboration
Unfortunately I'm not an avid member of any animation/SFM communities so this probably won't ever get off the ground. Whatever the case, if you ARE interested, check out the info below the line.

Just an Idea I had after my last project. A Skit based, silly/humorous/comedic/absurd/whateverelse Source Filmmaker Collaboration revolved around the map CTF_Turbine. There's not really any rules for what goes, just make the entry/entries youtube friendly. It must be made with Source Film Maker, and each entry should be under two minutes long. The entire collab will vary in length depending on how many people actually have an interest in participating. If you'd like to participate, feel free to drop a comment, or send me a message. When you finish your entry and have it rendered, contact me and we'll decide on what to do from there. Also note this project is purely recreational, and that I'm not THAT concerned over quality, I just want to see what a bunch of random SFMers can do when the put their minds to it (But that doesn't mean you should be lazy! Do the best you can/want to!)

UPDATE (1/11/2013): Alright, I'm going to draft a timeline for the collab entries, if you still haven't made an entry, please take care to look at the timeline, try to fill a spot, the objective is to make all the entries have some sort of connection to each other (A good example of this is 3 and 4, these two entries play into each other cognitively, they really connect)

The order of videos is subject to change as the collab develops.

1 - CTF_Turbine Collab (Intro video)

6 - A Really Bad Old Day In Turbine

11 - EMPTY (This slot is for new entries, rather than connecting ones)

So basically, anything that says EMPTY is a slot that needs to be filled, and they need to somehow connect the entry before it, and the entry after it.
ALSO, something I want collab members to keep in mind, I wanted the collab to avoid publicity until it's complete, so I'd appreciate it if you set your videos to unlisted if you upload them to youtube, especially to those of you with a lot of subscribers. I intend this collab to be a single video file, not a bunch scattered around youtube.

If it's a 'sad' shot, you might want to focus on his face and the pain showing on it, closing his eyes and bracing for impact. If you film him from below and follow his movement, it might be interesting, or maybe a bird's eye view. Or focus on a body part like his head/face or his back. I hope one of these ideas might prompt you!

As for realistic falls, they're hard to do but think about what happens to it once it hits the ground and how this motion conveys its weight. It won't bounce right up like a ball, but it will bounce a bit and rotate, depending on what part of it lands on the ground.

For the shot in question, going for a "Vulnerable/Beaten/surprised" feel. He's flying backwards away from the blast, taken off guard. Thanks for the advice!

So I'm working on a large project, in fact it's almost done. It's animated entirely from scratch, only using captured gameplay for animation reference. I don't want to give away much, but it's a 45-second film about a red scout over-coming oppressive odds, on defense on the map cp_gravelpit. I've only got three more shots to do and it'll be complete. One of these shots involves a BLU soldier dropping his rocket-launcher on the ground, then wielding his shovel. I'm having trouble with animating a realistic fall for the rocket-launcher.

There's one more shot of which I'm not sure how to proceed whatsoever,
This may be a small spoiler, but here's the context: The scout is blown off the shed in front of point A by a rocket. After that there's a 2.708 second shot that's basically a blank slate, I wanted to show the scout flying through the air in slow motion, but every camera angle I try makes the shot seem incredibly awkward and silly.
