"Filthy casuals"

Yep and I've published some of my stuff on there too! Nothing recently because the portalmaps people don't tend to like the omgwtfbbq megahard maps that I've been pooping out lately.

I'm Quat and I make ok puzzles I guess? Puzzle games are kinda my thing. Portal 2 is my favorite game because of the sweet map editor. Dabbling in Hammer and bunnyhopping. Other games I enjoy are Antichamber, PS:M, The Swapper (hey Almisuifre), Fez, and the PS1 Spyro games. (Any Spyro games not for the original PlayStation never happened, okay?)

As a hobby I do game and website development, iWork and I did portalstories.com, the new website for PS:M, and I do the ludum dare when it rolls around.

I also play osu! sometimes and map for it as well. Never got anything ranked (Soon™). Music taste = weird, and I blame most of that on osu haha. Teaches you to listen to terrible music and enjoy it.

So yeah, pretty much your typical freshie nerd dude I guess. Other places you'll find me wasting time on are Twitch, Reddit, and Audiotool.

Edit: LPChip I love NightSky and Knytt Stories, Nifflas is great.

AGDQ was a blast this year. Did anyone else see the Tetris players?

SourceRuns has a segmented speedrun of Portal 2 in about an hour, it's up on their channel, and I've heard Imanex and Noircat and friends are working on a segmented Portal run in under 7 minutes, wow.

No... but you can create the same effect with another laser and a laser catcher :)

2. Polux - Catapult - challenging test with good visuals, could have used the "bridge on the top" theme more
3. Almisuifre - Tabula Rasa - good concept but very "fiddly", great use of theme

It's a mapping competition - to come up with something original in the 1 month time window. If you happen to have an old map lying around that follows the rules, it's not fair to the other people because you could have spent a lot of time on it, and other people only got the 1 month.

It also gives an unfair advantage to people with a lot of maps (hey) because they're more likely to have a spare map that fits the rules.

Here's a contest idea I've had for a while, it's kind of similar to contest #002 here but a little bit different...

Your map must include the following:
* at least 1 laser emitter
* at least 3 laser devices (laser catcher, laser relay, etc), but
* absolutely ZERO laser redirection cubes.

Probably a really stupid question, but do maps need to be made in standard Portal 2, or can I make a TWTM map / Tag map?
