I know there are already a lot of portalgun skins out there, but I'm interested in creating my own. Any good places to start/what to do to make the new skin?

Good question. I notice also, for example, that the jump height appears to be higher than that of the original Portal (the indicator lights were also a quarter of the size in that game; half the width).

If all else fails, we should all go hound Valve and see if someone there such as Dave Kircher (who had mentioned that the player movement algorithms had been beefed up...) can help :P

It was an extremely close call between josepezdj and | \_/ (). I'd honestly give you two 0.5 points each if I could.
I have to say many of the puzzles were great Now if only every P2LC competition could be like this...

Well done, mappers. Here come the test results:

The top three for me:
1) oishi
2) quaternary
3) | \_/ ()

These were all a nice balance of getting a sense of accomplishment (the 'aha!" moment) without overdoing it (into what one might call the 'd'oh!' moment). Simple and elegant.
