Does your Dead Island Epidemic gift have a proper image on the gift, or is it the standard steam gift image? It seems that one of the subs had the game removed from the gift license, the others didn't.

That's very interesting to hear, seems like there is work happening behind the scenes over at Activision.

Maybe it's also due to Microsoft wanting to renew licences and relist some of the older more popular games? Will be interesting to watch and see what happens down the line.

I doubt it has anything to do with Activision because Valve has added the retired tag to a at least one hundred games in the last couple of days, they just seem to be fixing store pages for games that were already purchase disabled. Sometimes something goes wrong, though, like with what happened with TMNT just now.

Removed games can generally become unrestricted only if the developer/publisher themselves get approved. Outright Games was verified as a whole some time after UglyDolls was removed, which caused it to gain trusted status along with every other game from the company.

Because he asked in this group's forums I'll assume he asked regarding the group requirement, and yes, profile features limited / steam learning / restricted (all meaning the same thing) games count towards the group requirement.

Letting everybody know that Tetracosm's retiring from Steam on March 1. Just can't really feasibly keep it going.

It sounds like current Tetracosm owners will still be able to download and play the game. I sincerely hope some of you out there enjoyed it!

For future reference, the announcement of removal from the EA Play service may or may not reflect a game's removal from platforms as a whole, with Dirt 4 being an example of a game that was fully removed around the time mentioned on the list, which makes mentioning games based on that list valid. There's no way to know ahead of time if the two dates will coincide with each other, but it does present some possible risk of removal. If you want to take the risk of either buying or passing on it, that's up to each of you based on the information provided, and arguing in absolutes for something uncertain like this doesn't get anyone anywhere. If someone has concrete proof one way or the other, feel free to share it, otherwise any follow-up posts will be considered speculation at best. All we can do with the information currently at hand is use our best judgement until something more official is posted, the same as any speculative post made in this thread, so please be civil about it.

(Sorry if the post went on a bit too long and I repeated myself, I was half asleep when I saw the spam and started writing this.)

I'm aware that the primary use of this thread (and group in general) is to learn about deals on at risk steam games, but I won't penalize someone for posting another deal that fits the topic but involves another DRM, as long as it's clearly marked as such and isn't/wasn't available on Steam in the first place. Try to stick to Steam games in general, but I'm personally aware of quite a few people who were specifically looking for this game in the past after it got pulled from the Ubisoft store originally, so I think it's fine to mention, just don't make posts like this too frequent.

Quality is subjective, that's always been the issue. Some people have asked for leaderboards with assigned value based on the quality of the removal in the past but there was never a real way to give a value to a specific game. Sure, there's a lot of trash on steam, but there are plenty of good indie games that have been removed that some people would never have given a second look at because it's not something tied to a major company or franchise. If you can give me a reasonable method for differentiating between the two that wouldn't end up with games constantly placed in the wrong places (which would bother people who may want a specific game that ends up in the lower quality thread due to an opinion), I'd think about it.
