As a few people here know, in the past year or so, I have emailed and called a number of developers and publishers looking for a trace of some removed games. As we are all here for the same reason, collecting removed steam games, I figured that this would be the best place to discuss tracking down some rare titles. Game developers and publishers are all over the world, and as such, some people have a better chance to contact these companies than others (international calls, language barriers, etc.). I thought we could use this as a comprehensive thread to discuss our attempts at contacting these companies, should you feel the desire to, as it would benefit all of us. Any leads or any details provided would be useful.

I'll try to make a comprehensive list of developers and publishers one day, though don't expect it anytime soon (real life, etc.). For now, I'll post a list of companies I have contacted in the hopes of finding certain games.

Avatar: The Video Game - Nvidia

I contacted a representative of Nvidia questioning about steam keys as they are the only known company to actually supply them from a GPU promo back in 2009. He said that there were, in fact, vouchers with codes still available for the game, but because the promo has expired, there is no way to obtain a code from the now dead database. I asked if a supervisor or manager had any way to access this database, but I was told that it is no longer accessible to Nvidia itself.

Stalin vs Martians - Dreamlore Games + Paradox Interactive

I managed to find a digital copy of the game a few months back, but because of a variety of bugs and the fact that I wasn't actually supposed to get the purchase through (it's been taken down since), I wasn't able to actually get the game until recently. I emailed them a few weeks ago using the contact email provided with a proof of purchase, the activation key, and a response from Paradox (original publishers of SvM) stating I would need to contact Dreamlore for a Steam key. At the moment, I'm still waiting for a response from them.

Ashes Cricket 2013 - 505 Games + Trickstar Games

I called 505 Games a few months ago asking about steam keys for Ashes Cricket 2013. However, I was told that they had nothing to do with the generation of steam keys, that Trickstar games would be the only one who would have access to any keys, if they were even generated at all. At this point, I have not yet contacted Trickstar, but should be doing so soon.

Baseball Mogul 2008 + 2009 - Enlight Software

I emailed Enlight Software a few weeks ago asking about steam keys for those who can provide a proof of purchase (both are still available for sale as non-steam versions elsewhere). So far, I have not received a response. I have also just sent a message to the Official Sports Mogul Facebook page, hopefully I can get some information from them as well. Hey Paulo, looks like you have just enough to join :) The GTA Classics only count as one game towards your total, as do the Wallace & Gromit games, which leaves you at exactly 25 ^^

It's in the pack, when a store page is removed, a gift has no place to link back to, so there's no listing in the description. The entire time it was available, it included Streets of Moscow, and it's still listed according to the database[steamdb.info] entry from your gift. Too bad it's not the older version, which includes 4 removed games and a purchase disabled game ^^ - http://steamdb.info/sub/6435/#section_apps

Someone pointed out that the 1C Racing Collection no longer has a buy button on impulse, but there's a workaround for this on impulse. I'll post the direct buy button link here for people to access.

Not actually sure, you can check the other application threads if you're interested. I actually contacted the devs about this game (2008 and 2009), but they never replied to me, sadly.
