The Sims can be a lot of fun like that :D I'm glad that you're enjoying it!

And there's a LOT of DLC for it now, so if you like the base experience, you'll have plenty of content, I'm sure.

Sims 4 is interesting and I like that I can start the game and just let it run with limited interference. The outcomes can be very humorous. ;)

I feel like 4 has a lot of things that are great, but as an old school player of The Sims franchise, there are also certain aspects that just feel like they're missing and I find that really hard to deal with.

Especially, as some of those things are really deep-down, core mechanics. Some of the things that I hated definitely did get fixed over time, but yeah, my feelings are kind of complicated about Sims 4.

For all of the things about TS2 that are dated, the sims just feel more like little beings to me. A magical blend of avatar and idk, pet? They have their own thoughts and feelings and drives that are much more individual and personal than anything in TS4 (at the point when I stopped playing, anyway).

I have, but I quit because it was driving me crazy, lol. I've actually been playing Sims 2 again recently, though.

Hey that's cool! Apparently there's a modding contest going on for TW3 at the minute, not sure if that's your kinda thing, but at the least it might be a good pointer towards folks that are going all-in to make new stuff :)

The Redkit isn't hard to use and CDPR gives a lot of freedom with modifying the game. I am still learning and, so far, I have learned to set up basic quests and I am now learning to set up cut scenes.

How did the Redkit go @Syd? I haven't had a look yet to be honest, though I'd heard that it can be both comparable to the Bethsoft CK and more complex in some areas depending on what you're trying to do. there is something to be said for the CK and its scripting languages being really quite accessible even to the average layman

My PC is still limping along, I really need to disassemble the CPU cooler and get some new Thermal Paste in there, though I'm relatively certain the main heat/nstability issue I've had the last couple months was a Geforce Experience update that popped no notification, as going through all thee driver side settings to see if I could drop strain (and therefore running temps) it needed one, and zero crash problem since. It's not a driver and shouldn't be necessary, but it stopped the BSOD's Getting tired of Nvidia's ♥♥♥♥ to be honest

Last couple weeks for me have been mostly Warframe for the event stuff, and Snowrunner, since it's a chill game I can play with a movie or docu/podcast series on screen 2 without having to be too invested every single second lol

@H3X, I know what you mean concerning Summer. It's getting warmer here in Texas. Sorry you're having problems with your PC. My old pc bit the dust a month ago but I was able to purhcase another one(which is better than the old one). I am back on Witcher The Wild Hunt. Since CDPR released the Redkit I am going through tutorials to try my hand at modding quests.

Well it's a few weeks later and the ball of fire in the sky is back, nearly blew up my PC today lol, hit 99 degrees on the CPU cooler.
Case is now disassembled, pending further work on it.

Down to the last region in the UK in Valhalla now, so just that and DLC to go! Been playing a lot of Skull & Bones and Warframe this weekend, Season 2 in the former and a new frame with a new event mission for the latter.

Valhalla was so good... one of my most played games of the last few years. Poor England had a bad time though. AC Shadows is also looking good as is Star Wars Outlaws. Many pooh-pooh the Ubisoft sandboxes but I must confess I do still enjoy them

We had our customary like, day, last week, sun's gone now lol

Forbidden West is definitely on my list for this year, currently keeping my bank account safer by focusing on AC Valhalla first ;) I did like the first game, so if it matches up there that's good news haha

Outside of that I've been playing Pacific Drive lately, that's an interesting one for sure. Part driving game, part roguelite, part cosmic horror

Saw me relocate several times around the UK although I've had time working on some really cool stuff too; the last couple years especially have had some standout stuff as a multiplatform team lead for both Functional and Compliance testing in QA, though I've been learning other skills in my own time and looking towards maybe Production or Writing eventually, if I can find somewhere that's a good fit. Things are good, from the look, finally xD

After such a long time, I finally have a gaming PC again! I'm trying to get over covid finally tracking me down and proceeding to kick my butt, so it's been really nice to chill and get my games all set up again, while I try and deal with fatigue and brain fog that's been lingering for weeks now. Thankfully, most other side effects have settle down, mostly.

I actually had health issues a couple of years ago... now I have early retirement with my wife and cats. Life is good for us now :)

Gaming is very soothing for sure. That sounds like a very interesting profession to have. Health is the best investment you can make

I'm studying to be a personal trainer these day, so gaming isn't the most compatible side hobby, lol.

I'd still like to fit some gaming into my life though. It's such an enjoyable hobby even if it can suck up a huge amount of time

Oh hey Frogprincess! I had a period of years I was doing everything else besides PC gaming. But things have once again changed and now I can play a lot once more. Life is a pendulum like that. The Skyrim years were clearly the peak of Steam, I have many fond memories. I even remember all the controversy over the screenshots thread in the Skyrim forums :D Life was good back then.

Ditto. With my gaming PC not going well and having other things that I'm focused on, I often don't even launch Steam on a given day, but we had some great times and I will always have a warm feeling about the people here for that reason.

Yeah the first few hours were pretty lackluster, but the power spike later is mega satisfying. Blade executions combined with quickhacks is a huge power trip. Heads rolling in all directions. You feel like a cyborg Dovahkiin :D

I've been playing a sort of hybrid Solo build, pistols, blades and a bit of hacking. Had a hard time initially but after a few levels and adjusting my play around how the combat goes a bit it's certainly more slick

It has been so long since I've last played that I did not even remember the old skill trees anymore :D I'm running a katana-netrunner build and it feels pretty slick. All the cyberware options are very expansive... you can do a lot of different things in a single build even

Hi Major! How are you finding the new skill trees? I was quite unsure what to think initially, in some parts still am after three playthroughs already and onto a fourth for the DLC lol. Familiarity with the other system and all, plus removal of a ton of elements that I used a lot didn't sit that well to begin with. That said, it is clicking a bit more after some time with it, I am liking the new cyberware system for sure

Hey H3X and the digital peoples of the Sweetroll Club :) I've been playing Cyberpunk 2077 ever since the 2.0 update... amazing how the devs managed to turn it into a gem. I will be getting Starfield a bit later for sure!

I, for one have been enjoying playing Generation Zero with some friends, still on the proverbial For Honor Grind and am hoping to finally see the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk this weekend. Have been putting in like an hour here and another there etc but should finally hit the new stuff today. BG3 I also need to set to and run through fully as I've not finished that one either lol
