[✖] - Custom Made PHX Monorail Left Switch, Right Switch, and Cross 90 Track Pieces.
Introduction:

After putting together a suggestion that brings small potential of a fully functioning Monorail that runs on the PHX Monorail track pieces, I've decided to continue it by making this branching path of potential custom made PHX Monorail track pieces that aren't seen in vanilla Garry's Mod, as this is to bring more variety to the Monorail track pieces and bring more possibilities and ideas to make unique layouts, because I as I mentioned before, the love that the PHX Monorail track pieces receive is very small and is given little to no attention by the Garry's Mod community. This is to hopefully increase it's love in the possible near future.

Showcase:

Two of the more common things that the PHX Monorail track pieces lack in is switch tracks and cross tracks. To fix that, I've put together my own prototypes of these track pieces that work flawlessly and may have potential of becoming their own entity.

Monorail Switch Track Pieces:

The name is very self explanatory. These are fully functioning switch track pieces that use the Monorail track pieces. They come in both Left Switch and Right Switch variants. But unlike normal track switches, these ones feature what I simply call "stoppers." The stoppers are the 2x2x8 plastic blocks that are seen going through the tracks. Hence their names, they act as a temporary buffer stop to prevent a monorail coming from the branching track from derailing if the track is switched the wrong way.

Below is a good handful of showcase and test photos that I took of what the switches look like and how they work.

Monorail Cross 90 Track Piece:

This one may seem impossible to build but the solution to building it is a lot simpler than you think. It features a simple plus sign design with a 2x2 plastic block in the center. The 2x2 acts as a monorail track piece since it's smooth enough and is a perfect size to keep the monorails from falling and to allow them to smoothly transfer across it and onto the other track. The gaps are also wide enough to fit the monorail flanges to fit through.

Below is another handful of showcase and test photos that I took of what the Cross 90 looks like and how it works.

Note 1:
I do have future plans to make a prototype Cross 45 using the PHX Monorail track pieces, but right now I have to figure out what's the best and most efficient way to make one.

Apologies for the last 2 right switch photos and all cross 90 photos not showing up properly. I must've hit a picture limit.

I'm afraid that I won't make such track pieces in the future without having my own train to drive on them. And even if I made that train, then I maybe have to build my own tracks for it.

Because if you want to create tracks, then they need an exact scale for length and circumference. Without considering this, you aren't able to build your own layouts or loops.

As I can see on your switch screenshots, they will not work for what we would need.
And to make an 45° cross, you need to build an exact 8 figure with the PHX rails and cut out the middle cross with the standard lengths that the PHX rails provide. If they don't line up exactly, that this is a proof for a bad scale of the PHX rails. This is just a guess, I have hardly used these rails.

Also the 90° cross that you made couldn't be used as own single prop because it would be longer that a normal track piece what would destroy the layout or loop that you create.

If PHX monorails would have correction pieces you could work around all the described cases above, but that wouldn't be necessary if the scale is exact.

I also noticed that the PHX rails (the normal ones and monorail) have an individually size and scale what need be measured first in order to create new track parts. Which is why it would be good to make an own railway set to avoid this measurement in the first place.

Building railway sets is based on math. If you made your own pack, then it would be easy to expand it. But adding more to an existing pack without an exact scale is annoying or messy.

I noticed that by reworking the PHX pieces from the previous suggestion. They used a scale that I wouldn't use or recommend.

And you do not need to apologize for the limit of screenshots per post, that's a steam thing. Just split your post next time in mainpost and own answers.

Interesting, didn't think about that.

I will be taking this advise and see if I can make any major corrections in the future when I have time.

Overall, I do understand the reasoning as to why this won't work which is a shame, but oh well it was worth the shot. Thank you for the feedback.
