Analog Activation Type doesn't work on other controllers
Isssue
Maybe I'm not understanding how it works or it's never worked for controllers aside from Trackpads. Choosing the analog activation type doesn't work, nothing happens.

Hardware
Windows 10
Playstation DualSense, Dualshock 4
Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, Joy-Con

Steps to Reproduce
- Go to a game in the library that uses analog input, like the analog sticks or triggers.
- - For example, Up on Left Stick pulls the Right Trigger for gas.
- Go to the controller configurator. Enable Steam Input.
- Set Left Analog Stick to Directional Pad, map up to Right Trigger, down to Left Trigger.
- Change the activation type to Analog, set the output Axis to Right Trigger and Left Trigger, for up and down respectfully.
- - Alternatively, try Left Trigger pushes the Left Stick to the left.
- Set Left Trigger Soft Pull to Left Stick left. Set Right Trigger Soft Pull to Left Stick right.
- Change the activation type to Analog, set the output Axis to Left Stick left for LT, and Left Stick right for RT.
- Start the game, go into Free Roam.
- Push up on the left analog stick, and alternate pulling the triggers.

Results
Nothing happens.

Expected
The car should accelerate for as far as the left analog stick is moved up and out of the deadzone. The wheels should turn to the left for as much as the left trigger is held down.

Hi DaMu

Same experience. I recently tried to use the analog activation type for the 8BitDo (connected as Pro Controller). Pulling the trigger just alittle bit should have done a default action and pulling the trigger completely should have added an action layer with a different behaviour.
There wasn't any problem to configure that accordingly by using steam's config tool.
But just like with you, nothing happend - it didn't add that layer, so went for a workaround solution.
Analog activation might not be realised (yet) for these controller types?

Best regards

I should have clarified in OP, but be careful about the mode used on 3rd party controllers.

Official Switch Pro Controllers do NOT have analog triggers, so setting an 8bitdo to Switch Pro mode will not expose its analog triggers. You have to use the XInput mode.

But the problem is that, even if you do use the XInput mode to try to remap analog sticks to the analog triggers, it doesn't work, same problem for an Xbox controller.

Hello guys i have same problem, controller gamesir nova lite can anyone help me
I'd like to report that this issue also affects Vader 4 Pro controller. Can't believe it falls under the radar for so long despite being so widespread among controllers.
