Blurred images in "What's new"

When interacting with the "What's new" bar on the top of my game library (where update news and such for my games are listed) NFSW games will have their images in the news post blurred.

The same goes for if I press news posts on the game page in my library. Images will be blurred no matter my store preferenses for adult content.

If I instead go via: Game -> Community hub -> News I can see all images un-blurred.

I've removed all the checkboxes from my store preferenses to allow adult content, restarted steam and then re-enabled all the checkboxes. Problem still persists.

It's like it's completely ignoring preferences at this point. even if I toggle them on and off like in previous issues it doesn't fix the problem and half the time the censored images don't need censorship it's just because of the games they are.

I received a reply from Support. They were unaware of the problem. I linked them to this thread and sent multiple screenshots showing the issue.

Same error here:
- in library panel "what's new" feed is blurred regardless of settings
- accessing the same feed from the "news" tab of "community" main page, works as per settings.

Well it started happening to me on pc as of yesterday. It was about a month when it hit mobile. So here to add the obligatory comment. Also sent a support message. Though seeing them say that they don't have a fix is unfortunate...

Ahhh, so I'm not the only one who noticed despite our preferences. It is annoying. I'm an adult, unblur this, please don't become like Xbox or PS. That's why I came to Steam, for the freedom.

It's not anything intentional I got a reply today. Seems like they don't have fixes as mentioned a few posts above. Just affects random accounts. For one person here it just started working again.

We're basically just stuck sitting on the side lines until this gets enough traction or is resolved magically.

In any case thanks Sven from Steam Support. Maybe one day we'll all see adult content again. I suppose it's not too big a deal for now.

Though this hopefully should be here to tell anyone in the future who gets this issue which started around the beginning of April on Mobile. Now affecting pc as of Mayish.

Edit: Exact response for anyone curious.
