DualSense Bluetooth Vibration Stuck at 100% Until Steam is Restarted
Hi everyone. I’d like to report a bug I’ve been experiencing with the DualSense controller when using it via Bluetooth in Steam.

Before formatting my PC, I found a workaround for an issue where the controller’s vibration would get stuck at maximum intensity, with no way to adjust it. The workaround was to use the Steam Beta Client and connect the controller via Bluetooth — this made the vibration behave normally.
It’s important to mention that this issue never happens over USB — vibration works perfectly when connected via cable.

However, after reinstalling Windows and setting everything up again (Steam, drivers, etc.), the behavior changed. Now, every time I launch Steam and then connect the controller via Bluetooth, the vibration is immediately stuck at 100%, which is very uncomfortable during gameplay.

Here’s the weird part: if I restart Steam with the controller already connected via Bluetooth, the vibration returns to normal. This happens on both the stable and beta versions of Steam. So the bug only occurs if the controller is connected after Steam is already running.

Summary of the issue:
DualSense via USB: everything works fine.

DualSense via Bluetooth:

If I connect the controller after Steam is already open → vibration is stuck at 100%.

If I restart Steam with the controller already connected → vibration behaves normally.

This occurs on both the regular and beta versions of Steam.

This seems to be a bug related to how Steam initializes DualSense support over Bluetooth. I hope this report helps and that it gets looked into in future updates. If anyone else is having this issue or has found a better workaround, feel free to chime in.

Thanks!
