Steam window lags/jittery when moving it around in the desktop
ISSUE
Steam window is laggy to move around in the desktop

OS
Windows 11 24H2 (Nvidia driver version 566.14 on rtx 2080 if that's also helps)

STEPS
  • Update to Steam Beta
  • Move window around

RESULTS
When moving Window, it got super jittery / not smooth. (Can provide a video as well if needed).

EXPECTED
No lag, Steam behave normally on public build despite running on older driver

I have found that it only seems to happen with larger movements - but VERY small ones don't seem to have this issue.

I had this problem and looked for a fix going reverting back seems to fix it.

confirmed, same here.
Only Steam lags, all the other applications work normally.

The latest beta (July 10th) fixes this issue.
No more lagging when dragging the window around.

Can confirm that this is indeed the case - Steam doesn't check for update automatically (or at least did not for me), but doing the Steam => Check for Steam Client Updates found said update and resolved.
