Spellcheck (?) causes unnecessary hangs on Linux
I launch Steam. Everything's fine.
I start using it. Everything's fine.
The moment I click any input field and try to type anything, Steam hangs for undetermined amount of time. Regardless of if it was necessary.

I understand your care about people born after year 2000, which can't write grammatically correct sentences even with DuoLingo Owl holding a knife at their neck.
I, however, do not understand why I need spellchecking in:
- store search (thanks to 200IQ developers naming their masterpieces using weird terms)
- library search (same)
- notes (you know, that one small gizmo added for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles, for people with hardware so bad so they can't afford opening Steam and Notepad)
- command line options (in game's Properties, command line options don't have to adhere to grammar by definition)
- where else?

I specifically don't need spellchecking at all, thank you very much.
If I sense a potential error, I double-check my writings.
And sometimes context demands some intentional misprint or out-of-dictionary word.

Stop hogging my resources. At least at places where grammar is not needed.

Now, why spellcheck is a suspect?
What else could require some extra module to load once end user tries to write anything in any input?

Ubuntu 25.04 x64, pretty generic.
Steam Beta is enabled.
