All applications become unresponsive upon computer start up, effectively bricking the computer. I can log into Windows fine but I can't do anything once I log in. I know this is steam's fault because I reinstalled Windows twice once windows 11 and next windows 10 all original with licence with every other driver and applications all running absolutely fine until I installed Steam and when I restarted after few seconds it's stopped responding nothing works except mouse pointer even when I double click any program it's stays dormant and keep loading untill end process pops up but even after clicking that nothing works and the pop up comes back.
STEPS TO RECREATE
1. Installed Steam.
2. Restarterd Windows 11 pro/10 pro (don't really matter).
3. Log In.
4. Attempt to launch any application. This includes using ctrl+alt+delete, which won't do anything. System works for hardly few seconds then the System sits and does nothing from this point, and I had to force shutdown the system by using power button. This problems persists for any subsequent restarts of Windows. Only way for system to be functional again is to use a restore point before steam installation or reset and reinstall Windows. But Actually I get blue screen error when I once restored the system successfully,I shutdown my PC,and when I started next time Directly I got the blue screen of death and getting restarts... however I will still try to restore my pc to different time but the problem is when I did that before 1st I got system protection not enable I then somehow enable it, my system restore failed and all of my system restore points getting deleted.
Yeah if you’ve just gotten Steam do make sure it doesn’t automatically start itself, but if you’re past that point, there is an easy fix that usually works as far as I can tell: Go into your system BIOS and disable Integrated Graphics. I don’t really know any of the reasoning behind why that works but at least for me and a lot of others it did, so fully reinstalling Windows should only be a super last resort.
