Banned until July 11, Gabe Valve, fix your sh*tty community because the ban thing really starts making no sense. Worst community in the world, I hope Steam dies in a week. And even if I contact the support, it's totally useless because I know the bot support will say the ban is justified. Ban is justified in my ass, I don't think it's justified, because I see a lot of bullsh*t in this community. Mods are probably brainrotted. Seriously, I don't find so fair this community. Stating, "God will take care of you" in many cultures, is a direct threat.

Bans often lead to anger and retaliation in some form.
The ban reasons are often too vague, not stating what the exact problem was and when asking for clarity, steam support will refuse to answer due to policies.

This combination shows both how and why bans are ineffective. At most they can give someone time to calm down, but- since steam users can create and associate with themselves multiple accounts, for those who want to do actual harm, they have free reign and will not actually feel punishment.

So in a way, it is indeed feedback for Steam, but not about the Steam client. Its about the way staff operates and their impact on the human psyche when they make these decisions.
We don't know when people issue a ban, but for Valve in the modern scene, they tend not to make this decision lightly.

It used to be harsher and longer during, but I think valve understands its own weaknesses. I also think the community members should correct themselves and eachother; not is it always nessecary for valve to step in. By doing that, it will also help them react faster due to lightening the load on the moderation team.

But perhaps I digress. The thread might get locked due to it being off topic or because they rather have you contact Steam Support. Still, It might be useful for feedback reasons.

It's still incredible the most senseless of things that they will ban you over. Don't make the wrong joke, reported, deleted, banned. Totally depends on who it is too. Some people are apparently allowed to do much worse and get away with it.

It's also people abusing the reporting system in order to get people banned. It makes no sense at all the things I have recently been getting banned for. I used to say my bans were justified. Recently, these bans are definitely not anywhere close to what I'd call "justified" in any way

If it's not just an AI that banned me and an actual human did the banning, for what I am talking about recently, God help that person lmao
