Steam Recording on Linux: "Unable to retrieve clip information (2)" error when trying to export a clip
I get the error in the title when trying to export a clip, and no clip gets exported. This happens regardless of the clip's duration. The video plays back just fine in Steam, and the problem is just with exporting clips from the video.

System info and Steam runtime diagnostics included below. I don't know of there's a way to get log output for the recording itself, so I don't have that here.

The Steam Runtime Diagnostics output was too long to paste here, so I put it in a pastebin instead: https://privatebin.net/?346b09dadf1c5548#HqcVTd2GzAq69STxLvc6hbijQhKt62YXi4BGrVssySwr

And here are my settings for Steam Recording: https://imgur.com/a/8ZtI8cq

Same here. The playback never worked but I could export videos, since latest update I cannot export anything ("Unable to retrieve clip information (2)")

When I export an already made clip, it exports another clip (always the same one) and it's laggy :(
also getting same problem, every 2nd exported clip and onwards is just a repeat of the first. Only closing and re opening steam resets it. But for 1 export then same issue again.

Looks like I posted this in the wrong subforum since there's one specific to Steam Recording, so I made a new thread there.

I have the same problem. Export to Steam does not work, export to file gives the error "unaible to retlive clip information (2)", BUT uploading a small video to the network works (share link).

Win 10, but old GPU

Fedora and an AMD card? If so, install the mesa-freeworld packages: https://rpmfusion.org/Howto/Multimedia

I have the same problem except I'm on Windows.

Same for me in the stable branch. Cant export the cs2 clip, but can upload it to a friend. I tried to record in dayZ and only get a tiny black screen file with 0:00 duration.

Same issue on Windows 10, was really hoping to save this Teardown run to share.

I was having this problem on the stable client of Steam, but after switching to the Beta Client it seems to be working as intended now.
Now only exporting the file to the computer works really fine, getting the link to share is quite unstable, sometimes it shows the link to copy, sometimes not.
