In-Game FPS is now In-Game Overlay Performance Monitor
The In-Game FPS counter is now expanded to become the In-Game Overlay Performance monitor. It can display various more detailed information about frame rates, CPU performance, GPU performance, and more. Some data is only available on Windows at the time of this writing, and some information is only available on certain hardware. You will see an FPS counter like you always have at the lowest level of detail, but can adjust detail and appearance in Settings->In Game.

Learn more in our FAQ, and please provide feedback here.

I can confirm. Thanks for the quick CPU fix jmccaskey and Steam team.

Hot-key would be nice. And under settings just let us choose, either a specific setting which we can toggle on/off or the cycle option.
Is it possible to add vram temperature?
I second adding CPU temps and CPU/GPU watt usage! I love this already.

pls add Hotkey!!!

The graph of values significantly reduces the performance of games.

Feature suggestion:

"Post-Game PC Performance Summary"

This would appear after a game session, similar to the current Post-Game Summary, but instead it will show your average, minimum and maximum: FPS, GPU/CPU load, GPU/CPU temps, RAM/VRAM usage, etc., from that session. It would also include a performance timeline (like in HWiNFO64) showing all relevant (and already recorded) PC performance stats throughout the play session, no matter how long it lasted.

This would be incredibly useful for testing purposes, and it would be a really unique feature that would make this performance overlay stand out from the rest.

It would also go along nicely with the v2 version of the overlay :D

I would echo a lot of the comments already posted, similar to the steam deck overlay, but could use a customizer to build the overlay I actually want. The existing presets either offered too much or too little and I ended up just going back to the FPS monitor. A battery life indicator would also be incredible for laptops and handhelds.
I think it would be great to have individual toggles for each metric.
Sometimes just knowing the current FPS is enough, no need to see Min/Max and a graph of the FPS over time.
Or maybe you just want to know the FPS and the GPU usage, or just the CPU usage.

The option to see only the current % usages would also be good for anyone who just wants to know the current values and not a complete breakdown of everything. i.e. RAM 50% instead of RAM 8.0/16.0GB.

Leave the option to see everything in but also give the option to decrease the level of detail of the information.

i like knowing more stats like gpu/ram/etc but i wish i could toggle off the graph.

please add an easy toggle in shift+tab or hotkey or its unusable though.

Need to give us a shortcut key to switch it on and off.

Also the FPS graph on/off should have a dedicated option as well.
The feedback so far.

The full (the 4th option) performance detail level disables XeSS Frame Generation (not diisables, limits FPS to desktop refresh rate, it tries to generate tho) at least in Marvel Rivals in Intel Arc B580. Every other graph variants are fine with XeFG.

Don't think I have any other XeFG enabled game to test this coz devs too lazy to implement even up to date XeSS to test. (like in Oblivion Remaster has a year old version of XeSS).

Also the performance monitor does not detect XeSS and, ofcoz, generated frames counts as real.

Windows 11 (latest updates)
Intel i5 11400F
Intel Arc B580 12gb
some cheap 24gb ram

Another vote for scaling/larger font options.

Possible we'll support in the future, but there is not much usage of XeSS right now, so we have prioritized other hardware and tech right now.

I would be curious if your frame rate limiting in Marvel Rivals is fixed after tonight's update. We fixed a perf issue with the overlay limiting max FPS with graph visible specifically affecting some D3D11 games.

would be nice to be able to select individual things instead of presets
for example fps and temps, without graphs, % and ram
