I'm talking about when you have multiple copies of a single game installed to a single system, which is a common circumstance when you start moving games around with removable storage across multiple systems. Steam does not handle this well at all; there is no indication in the UI that you have multiple copies installed and there is no way to tell which copy of the game Steam is referencing in the library or for updates. Specific support for managing this circumstance would be really great.
