New Steam Store Menu Feedback
Starting today, users who have opted into the Steam Client Beta will see a new menu while browsing the Steam Store. This will be available in the desktop Steam Client and on the Steam Deck when opted in to the client beta.

You can read more about the new menu in this announcement.

We'd love to hear your feedback on the new menu and search, and learn about any issues you encountered while using them. If you are reporting a bug, please remember to let us know where you were (web browser / mobile / Steam Client) in addition to what happened.

Good improvement overall guys. Little nit pick: In my opinion "Your Discovery Queue" should use the newer version that doesn't take you to game pages.

Generally liking it.
My biggest complaint with it currently is the amount of transparency going on, can be hard to read at times/not super visually-pleasing.

Seems ok, although I'll say because it's at the very top it feels weird since it's the store bar directly below the steam client bar, before there was some spacing between them which felt better, and personally I prefer it with the spacing, the bar itself was also designed in a way that popped out more as opposed to the new one which kinda blends with the background and almost seems hard to notice. That's what I think at least.

This is because background blur behaves differently in web browsers with hardware acceleration on vs off.
A workaround is if you turn on "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views" under the Interface tab in steam settings you'll see how it's supposed to look.

But I would still consider this a bug though, maybe they could add a check to see if hardware acceleration is enabled, and make the background on these surfaces opaque if it's disabled.

Not sure if this a bug or a design I disagree with, but currently when browsing the store on my handheld (ROG Ally X running SteamOS, I know it's not officially supported but perhaps indicative of the Steam Deck experience), the left analog stick and d-pad only let me navigate between items on the top menu bar and their dropdown options (i.e. browse, recommendations, categories, etc. and their sub-menus i.e. Steam Deck and Docking Station under Hardware).

For example, if I press down on the d-pad or left analog stick as if I wanted to go down to navigate through the games on the main store page, it just pans down the window/"camera" but I'm not able to hover over and select any of the games there without using touch-screen - the selection is still hovering over the top menu items. Valve folks, let me know if photos and/or vid are required to help explain this.

Steam Deck users, curious if you're experiencing the same thing here.
выглядит красивенько
The main page feels a bit empty now that the side panel is removed - not that I actually used it. Other than that, it looks alright. Might take some time getting used to.

Wishlist and Cart now look better with the new top bar.

Yep, I can verify that this isn't an issue when GPU accelerated rendering in web views is turned on. I would agree that this is still a bug.

Generally, I would like to have GPU accelerated rendering in web views enabled, but these days I'm leaving it disabled because the game's store images that show when I hover over a game in my library look more pixelated/grainy when I have GPU accelerated rendering enabled. This is of course a separate issue from the store beta, one that I have already reported and discussed with another user previously, elsewhere on steam client beta feedback...

I like the new menu but it is lacking the "Followed Games & Software" button from the previous iteration of the store, which was a regular go-to for me during sales

Can we get a shortcut back to homepage? I dunno, home icon on the very left or something. I know you can go back other ways but this might be handy when you get buried deep in the subsections.
Menu should be a bit more interactive, example:
opening Recommendations or Hardware has list on the right, like "DLC For you" etc
hovering over or clicking/tapping that should dynamically update the content of that menu on the left first and give "More" option to expand it or open new page about it.

+1, I wanted to write the same thing.
Please leave the wishlist and cart buttons the old colours, grey and green. Nice modernisation otherwise

The left column needs to return. It was great to have the recently viewed games and the 'currently' main tags right there. 99% of my Store browsing was via that.

The "Your top genres" in the categories menu seems off. It's showing me "action roguelike" which is like the most generic term but looking through my library, I've last played a game with that tag late 2023. Certainly not one of my top genres.

Tbh it almost looks like it just took my last played game (watch dogs 2), extracted 5 genres out of it (crime, stealth, hacking, illuminati, parkour) and then threw in action roguelike as like a weird bonus.
