Home/Featured button?
I feel like returning to the main featured page in the steam store, and having a button dedicated to returning you to this front page should be in the new top bar. Probably on the very left hand side.

Hover over Store and select Featured. Or double click the Store button.

There should be an option to go to the store front using the navigation bar instead of being forced to use the store menu from the steam client, this new navigation bar will most likely be also included when navigating through the steam store using your regular web browser where you currently wouldn't be able to go back to the store home without using the previous page button or going through the steam store site map.
