Steam shuts down on itself
I've been having issues for the past couple weeks with steam randomly closing itself. It doesn't crash, not buggued, reinstalled (Even went ahead and cleaned all traces from the system to do a "fresh" install), tried the non beta version, etc.

I went down through all the posible issues and their solution but haven't found an answer yet. It just closes itself like if I did it myself. Registry shows nothing and I know for fact that I don't have any kind of malware running in my computer (Brand spanking new workstation). The only thing left to discard is steam closing itself because of connection issues.

And now the explanation as why it is an actual issue to me (so maybe you grow some symphathy towards me and wanna help me out):

It wouldn't be much of a problem besides I'm from (S)pain and despite what ppl living in the main cities might say, infrastructure here is as good as it could have been back in 1996. Most of us don't even have ADSL and still relly on DSL or radiofrequency. So you might get to understand that one can get kinda frustrated when the fastest download speed is about 3gb/h on average.

Thing is... its kinda stormy here, everything's floaded, roads are falling apart and I can't leave my games downloading at night cause steam's shutting down itself every 10 min so I'm finding myself gaming on mobile... Help me before I become one of them.

I apologyze if reading this caused any seizures, grammar's too awful or if I misspelled something.

I have sympathy for you man, I really do. But not the solution :)

Me too, 1-2 times a week the client stops at random after few hours, disappears from task bar, from task manager making a game, if run, lag out, crash or disappear too. If I should guess it started probably like 4 months ago

There is no error message, no system hickup or other indication of trouble.
- I have basic windows defender, discord and firefox running
- Network is stable, I am watching a stream podcast on 2nd monitor.
- 80MBit/s down and 20MBit/s up
- In event viewer I've found only Car Mechanic Simulator: Event Name: AppHangB1 ... which, I think, is a reaction to steam disappearing act.
- Windows 10 with Drivers up to date (but it did with older nvidia drivers too)
- Computer has 10+ gig free ram with game running, hundreds gig free disk space on system(1yo ssd) and game drive, already checked files and disk for problems too
- games that I play don't even use up all cpu, it's an old 3.4 GHZ intel 8 cores
- nVidia 2060 Super, usually mid settings, playing not hardware intensive games like: Car Mechanic Simulator, Euro Truck 2, various pixel art and idie, Dave the Diver, Ori and the Blind Forrest. I am playing Marvel Rivals too, but didn't happen with that one ... yet? :)

Literaly nothing that would stress the computer out, yet here we are.
Does anyone know where steam keeps it's logs files or crash dump?
I didn't find anything usable. Any help appreciated.

I’m having the same issue. Steam randomly closes, and won’t reopen. I have to restart my computer just to get Steam to behave. No idea what is going on with it, and have tried a few things like checking the integrity of files and clearing the cache, but nothing has worked. I’m hoping to reinstall Steam but I don’t want to lose all of my games or progress in anything.
I am have the same issue as well
